In The Nutcracker, one of the most beautiful Christmas stories, the line between dream and reality is blurred. Tchaikovsky’s legendary ballet will be presented with a new choreography by Renato Zanella,  based on the libretto adapted from E.T.A. Hoffman’s ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’, while Act II will include music from the Overture-Fantasy Romeo and Juliet by Tchaikovsky. In this new production of the GNO Ballet, the choreography focuses on Clara’s dream, a dramatic coming of age through love and fear.

The distinguished German set and costume designer Christof Cremer will be responsible for the sets and costumes, his aim being to create a dreamlike atmosphere worthy of the famous tale.
