The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) comes to life through the 4-day event Metamorphosis: The SNFCC to the World and is transformed into an open space of encounter, exploration and experimentation.

From June 23rd to 26th the SNFCC presents a rich program which includes cultural, sports and educational activities, where more than 400 Greek and international artists compose an innovative four-day festival of creativity and participation.

Visitors will have for the first time the opportunity to enter the new facilities of the Greek National Opera and the National Library of Greece, as well as to enjoy the Stavros Niarchos Park in its full scale.

Admission is free to all events

Opening hours:
Thursday, June 23 -> 18:00 – 04:00
SNFCC will remain open from Friday, June 24 at 18:00 till Sunday, June 26 at 04:00 (Monday AM) continuously.

In the interest of optimum participation, places will be available on a  first-come-first-served basis.

Lines Β2, 550: These lines pass through the metro station Syggrou Fix where you can change means of transport. Getting off at the “Onasseio” stop on Syggrou Avenue southbound, head south in the direction of the sea, up to Evripidou Street (junction with Syggrou Avenue by-lane).

From Glyfada
Lines Β2, 550: Getting off at the “Eugenidio” stop on Syggrou Avenue northbound, then pass through the underground pedestrian pass towards Kallithea.

From Pireaus
Lines A1, B1: Getting off at the “Tzitzifies” stop on Ethnarchou Makariou Avenue. Move on the avenue towards Glyfaga, then left onto Epaminontas Street and finally right onto Peisistratou Street.


The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) is a multifunctional and environmentally sustainable education, arts, and recreation destination. It includes the new state-of-the-art facilities of the National Library of Greece, the Greek National Opera and the Stavros Niarchos Park, covering an area of 210,000 sqm.

Designed by the internationally renowned architect Renzo Piano, the SNFCC offers a new landscape for the 21st century. One of the most significant cultural and environmental projects ever undertaken in Greece, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s largest single donation (€596 million) and a prime example of a private-public sector partnership, confirming the Foundation’s commitment to the country’s future, at a critical junction of its history. It is also an engine of short-to mid-term economic stimulus.

The SNFCC will be completed and delivered to the Greek State. As a pioneering initiative, it regenerates the surrounding urban fabric, enriching the local communities and the image of the city as a whole; enhancing its environmental, social and economic sustainability aspect. Designed especially with the purpose of being open and accessible to all, it will enrich the everyday life of the country’s residents and aims to attract millions of visitors from around the world!
