Greece’s premier WINE SHOW: OENORAMA

Exhibition – Oenorama 2015
Whether you are a wine lover or a member of the wine trade, Oenorama is the place to be. In Greece’s largest and most prestigious wine fair you will find hundreds of wines from all over Greece and abroad. More than 130 wineries are on show, presenting old wines and new, including the exciting 2014 vintage, from both native and international varietals.

All winemakers are personally present to discuss their wines and meet with clients; this is a unique opportunity for the international visitor to meet winemakers who rarely come to Athens and to taste wines that aren’t widely distributed.

Visiting Oenorama has never been easier, now that the show is held annually in the city center*. Our chosen venue is the historic Zappeion Exhibition Hall just off the National Gardens and a 10’ walk from Constitution square. There are scores of hotels, restaurants and wine bars within walking distance, while Athens International Airport is only 45’ minutes away with the metro system.

The exhibition runs for three full days (Saturday, Sunday and Monday), with Monday dedicated to professional visitors. Professional wine buyers and journalists have free access all three days. Entry for consumers costs 12€ per day at the door or 10€ through Viva.gr.

This year Oenorama is hosting an art show called the “Oak Sessions”, with 30 wine barrels that have been transformed into works of art by 30 Greek artists. Also, do not miss the opportunity to visit our “Olive Oils by Winemakers” collective stand where a dozen Greek wineries are presenting their olive oil production.

* As of this year we are merging our two most important wine shows, Oenorama and Dionysia, into one to be held every year in early March

Exhibition – Venue
Oenorama 2015 will be taking place at Zappeion Megaro, a historic building dating back to the late 1800’s. Thanks to its comfortable high-ceilinged halls and natural light, Zappeion is the ideal place for a wine fair. It is located in the heart of the city, next to the Greek Parliament and the Royal Parc and is within walking distance of many hotels, wine bars and restaurants, as well as the traditional neighborhood of Plaka.
