TEDx Athens 2012: THE ONES WHO DO

do·er noun \’dü:ǝr\ Noun 1. doer – a person who acts and gets things done; “he’s a principal actor in this affair”; “when you want something done get a doer”;

The subject of this year’s event is “The Ones Who Do”. We will be bringing together a group of visionary individuals from a variety of fields who at some point in their lives have challenged commonly held perceptions and pre-established boundaries. The Ones Who Do are individuals who dream of a different world, who find ways of making their ingenuous vision an everyday reality and who do not stop in the face of adversity. This approach to life not only redefines our perception of the world and empowers us but also highlights the effect our actions can have on others. Our choice of topic is not only local but urgent: we need to turn thought into action today.

    TEDxAthens returns to you with double the power, two dates and two venues; Friday, 23rd of November at The Hub Events and Saturday, 24th of November at “Theatron” of the Hellenic Cosmos.

    This year our topic is more relevant than ever; it is about “The Ones Who Do”. With everything around us changing, we are being called to adapt and to create against all odds. We must therefore let go of theory and begin to do. Join us to hear live the stories of people who defied negative circumstance, believed in something they didn’t even know existed and dared to dream of a better future. We are all Doers deep down. Our aim is for you to leave our event believing it!Τwo days! We like to say we have a warm-up event on Friday and the main event on Saturday. That is why we are hosting a party on Friday night! Today you have the choice to apply either for both days (Friday & Saturday) or only for the main event on Saturday. Please note that the number of participants for Friday is limited to 250! Once approved applications reach this number, no other applicant will be able to apply for a ticket for both days. Admission to Friday’s night party is allowed only to the ones with a double-day ticket.
    Apply now to book your seat!
    It may take us a few days to review your application but once it has been accepted you will receive an email with further directions as to how to successfully complete the purchase of your ticket.
