Nabucco (updated 27/7)
Odeon of Herodes Atticus |

Nabucco
Giuseppe Verdi

Nabucco ranks among Verdi’s greatest operas. In the story, King Nebuchadnezzar has enslaved the Jewish people. In a display of his excessive arrogance, he demands that they worship him as a god. When he is struck down by lightning he realizes the consequences of his actions… But, who is his real daughter? Is it Fenena, or the conniving Abigaille, who is trying to usurp the throne?
