“Kaas chante Piaf“ meaning “Kaas Sings Piaf” is Patricia Kaas’ new project, focusing on 21 of the great Edith Piaf’s iconic titles, arranged by Abel Korzienowski. The new wonder-boy of the Hollywood music scene, ever since his Golden Globe nomination for his work on Tom Ford’s “A Single Man”, Abel also composed the music for Madonna’s W.E.

This show, commemorating 50 years since the death of Piaf, will open at some of the world’s most prestigious venues the Royal Albert Hall in London, Carnegie Hall in New-York, Olympia in Paris, Operett Theatre in Moscow, Sejeon Cultural Center in Seoul, etc.

With innovative stage design, this unique show aims to be above all contemporary and urban. It will include a video installation with lighting that is different from anything on the stage today. Unedited, extraordinary, never seen images of Piaf will be the centerpiece of this unique event.

biography: Patricia Kaas
Patricia was born in 1966 in Forbach, Lorraine, to a miner father, and a stay-at-home mother who raised seven children.

In 1988 : a trend was born. «Mon mec à moi» and «Mademoiselle chante le blues» became major hits of the 90’s.

In 1998, Patricia Kaas dominated the music scene, winning 6 “Victoires de la Musique”, and enchanting millions of fans worldwide.

At the dawn of the 21st Century, Patricia becomes one of the most renowned French artist in the World.

In 2002, Patricia Kaas landed her fi rst major film role, acting under the direction of Claude Lelouch “And now… Ladies & Gentlemen”, beside Jeremy Irons.

In 2008, after selling over 16 million albums in more than 47 countries, Patricia created Kabaret, an authentic show that is her personal and passionate tribute to the 1930s. It was more than just a performance tour; it was a treasure trove of beloved songs, a collection of this great artist’s most famous titles. With more than 20 songs, Kabaret was the most successful and elegant variety show Kaas ever performed. An extraordinary journey through 1930’s cabaret, the show was performed 145 times in 35 countries over two years. The Kabaret album sold over 800 000 copies worldwide.

Patricia Kaas is considered as the most popular female artist in Russia and CIS countries.

In China, Patricia gave concerts in Shanghai and Beijing. The People’s Daily calls her “the French Madonna” and her name in Chinese means “fi laments of joyful music”. In Vietnam, Laos, and especially in Korea, the Forbach’s “demoiselle” is also a great star.

Our Belgian, Swiss and German neighbours are also fans of Patricia; her songs have become classics, and it is no coincidence that Germany awarded her the highest honour of the German State.

In the United States, Kaas has fi lled the Beacon Theatre twice, personal repertoire, combined with classic French songs, seduces audiences from around the world.

In 2011, Kaas’ autobiography “L’Ombre de ma Voix” (The Shadow of My Voice) was published in March by Flammarion. This bestseller is sold throughout Europe, and has already been translated into more than 6 languages.

2012, Patricia Kaas played the magnifi cent role of a woman wounded by life for the television production “Assassinée” (Murdered), by Thierry Binisti.

In 2012, Patricia will announce her “Kaas Chante Piaf” project, which will include both a show and an album. This project is a tribute to Edith Piaf by today’s best French Singer. After a fabulous career of more than 20 years, and international success, Patricia Kaas is still the dignifi ed heiress of “La Môme” to audiences across the World.

In 2013, “Kaas chante Piaf” will tour 45 countries to celebrate worldwide the 50th anniversary of the death of Edith Piaf.
