 What can you find…

The Dinos of Patagonia are exhibited in two thematic halls; the west part of the building is dedicated to the “Dinos and Evolution” while the eastern part concerns “The Giants of Patagonia and the Extinction of Dinosaurs”.

In the western hall, the evolution of dinosaurs is presented; from the earlier, carnivore and tiny Eoraptor lunensis till the early birds of the Cretaceous period that survived the mass extinction 65 million years ago. A reconstruction of an excavation of a whole dino skeleton, the only full nest ever found of the Mussaurus patagonicus, full skeletons and live reconstructions of the two dino groups, the ornithopods and sauropods, the horn-bearing carnivore Carnotaurus sastrei and the carnivore, with the longest nail ever found, Megaraptor namunhuaiquii are also exhibited. Young visitors can dig for fossils or can feel like dino-embryos in an egg!

In the eastern part there are two giant and full skeletons of the second largest carnivore (larger than T-Rex) Giganotosaurus carolinii, which are “attacking” the, 18 meters long, herbivore Rebbachisaurus tessonei! A skeleton of pleisiosaurus and ammonites (fossil marine mollusks that lived together with dinos) can be seen in this hall. Also in this hall, there is a reconstruction of the early bird Buitreraptor gonzalezorum together with the extinction theories.
In the same hall, children can play and learn through interactive games and displays, models, electronic games, and draw their own dinosaur.
Visitors can also enjoy the movie “Dinos of Patagonia” (40 min) at the video-room and find souvenirs and nice gifts at Dino Shop!
