This is the first solo exhibition in Greece by world-renowned British artist Damien Hirst. Entitled New Religion, the exhibition has moved to Athens after an initial stop at Thessaloniki, where it was shown at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.
The exhibition presents mainly silkscreen prints, sculptures, installations and paintings and constitutes a characteristic example of the artistic practice of the most famous exponent of the Young British Artist movement, that dominated the art scene – British and global – in the 1990s. Most of this particular exhibition, or parts thereof, have been on show at the Victoria & Albert Museum (London); the Palazzo Pesaro Papafava (Venice); Rogaland Museum (Stavanger, Norway).
