Dear Friends of Austria,
In the next few days some very interesting cultural events with the participation of Austrian artists will take place.
On 22nd June at 20.30 in the Palio Gymnasio in Hydra the opening of the contemporary art exhibition “(O)ikea”, in which the works of many well-known Greek and foreign artists will be shown, will take place. Austria will be represented by works of the famous artist Franz West. The exhibition will be open to the public daily until 23rd September (except Mondays) from 11:30 to 13:30 and from 19.30 to 22.00.
Within the framework of this year’s Festival of Nafplion the Austrian cello soloist Katharina Gross will perform works of the Hungarian-Austrian composer Iván Eröd as well as of Cassado, Gabrielli, Ligeti and Bach on 26th June at 21.00 in Vouleftiko (http://www.nafplionfestival.
The opening of the exhibition “It’s the Political Economy, Stupid”, which has already been a huge success at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York, will take place on 27th June at 20.30 at the “Thessaloniki Center of Comtemporary Art” of the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki (CACT; Warehouse B1 at the port of Thessaloniki). The co-curator is Oliver Ressler and Linda Bilda as well as Isa Rosenberger collaborate in the exhibition. One can visit the exhibition until 30th September (Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00-18:00 / from 11th August until 27th the CACT will be closed). At the same time a performance of EN FLO, a symposium on contemporary art and the global financial crisis and a presentation of the documentary film “Thinking in the Age of monsters” by Giorgos Keramidiotis will take place.
