Experience the unique atmosphere of Epidaurus Festival in August during two of the most highly anticipated performances: At the Little Theatre, in “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner”, the celebrated Fiona Shaw collaborates with the director Phyllida Lloyd and the choreographer Kim Brandstrup to bring on stage a two hundred and fourteen year-old poem; while at the Ancient Theatre, in Moliere’s masterpiece “Amphitryon”, the renowned director Lefteris Vogiatzis will be guiding an exceptional cast.

One week later you may attend Aristophanes’ “The Birds”, again at the Ancient Theatre, featuring some of the most popular comedians, or get “On the Road with Odysseas Elytis” in a recital for voice and piano with Alkistis Protopsalti & Stefanos Korkolis (Little Theatre).

The Festival’s Box Offices at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus will be open onSundays from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.

To emphasize the importance of the performance “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner”, Athens and Epidaurus Festival has issued a special publication, where you may read the director’s note, an introductory text about Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772 – 1834), excerpts from the poem as well as texts by David Jones, one of the foremost poets, engravers and painters in 20th century England.

The bilingual publication (English/Greek) is available, as from now, at the Festival’s box office (39, Panepistimiou Str.) and at the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus on the days of performance (3 and 4 August). Price 5 €.
